The Taylor social media channels have been bustling lately, from the insider interviews on Taylor Primetime to live artist performances on our Instagram.
Welcome to Social Circles, where we highlight popular posts, trends and videos from across Taylor’s social media landscape. With so many people isolated at home, it was a big summer for music on social media, and we’re always happy to showcase Taylor artists who’ve have been using their extra time to create and share music and uplift the global community. From artist takeovers to behind-the-scenes video from Andy Powers’ workshop, the Taylor community is as active as ever. Here’s what you may have missed from the last couple months.
Taylor Artists Take Over Instagram
Due to isolation and social distancing, Taylor’s social media accounts have been teeming with original music and live performances as artists turn to the Web as a creative outlet. In August, singer-songwriter and Taylor player Alana Springsteen (322e) joined us for Single Sundays, playing acoustic covers of songs from pop, country and beyond. Iration guitarist and singer Micah Brown took over our Music Mondays to perform songs from his band as well as a cover of the Beatles’ “Here Comes the Sun.” Earlier, we featured Swedish fingerstyle player Gabriella Quevedo for an episode of Taylor Spaces, our series of performances from Taylor artists in their homes around the world. Follow Taylor Guitars on Instagram to catch these performances and many more.
It’s been a quiet summer on Instagram for Taylor’s own Andy Powers, but his workshop has been as busy as ever. In August, Andy shared a new video showing parts of his process for building a ukulele, which he was inspired to create after receiving a small, but surprisingly high-quality piece of wood from a friend. Follow Andy at @andytaylorpowers.
Our weekly series of live interviews, conversations and guitar demos with Taylor factory experts and music industry veterans has been gaining steam since premiering this summer. Lately, we’ve hosted live audience Q&A sessions with company founder Bob Taylor, spoken with Taylor team members about responsibly sourcing premium tonewoods from around the world, explored the tone-shifting characteristics of strings and guitar picks, shared guitar care insights from our repair specialists, and delved into the backstory behind the new American Dream Series. Catch Taylor Primetime on Tuesday evenings at the Taylor Guitars YouTube channel.
